Idaho Power has signed contracts with developers for 2 new solar projects in Idaho, and is awaiting approval from the Public Utilities Commission (PUC). Both developers, Sunergy World and Grand View PV Solar Two, agreed to pay Idaho Power’s proposed solar integration charge, which is still pending approval from the PUC. Sunergy World hopes to build a 40-MW plant between Boise and Kuna on city-owned property, which it would lease from the CIty of Boise. Grand View PV Solar Two is planning an 80-MW plant near Mountain Home. Together, the two plants would provide enough power to serve 83,000 homes. The completion of these solar projects would be a huge step forward for Idaho’s clean energy industry. The PUC is currently taking public comments on both projects – please take a moment to let the PUC know that you support these projects! This document provides more detail about the projects and how to submit comments to the PUC. You can read more about the proposed projects here and here.
